๐ New Vertical Video Strategies
๐ ChatGPT New Voice Feature
and more... lets go!
๐ฐ Corner Newsstand
YouTube just dropped some exciting news when it comes to vertical videos. Starting October 15th, we're getting a major upgrade: Shorts can now be up to 3 minutes long!
Longer Shorts, more of you. Starting on October 15, you can upload Shorts up to 3 minutes long. This was a top requested feature by creators, so weโre excited to give you more flexibility to tell your story. This change applies to videos that are square or taller in aspect ratio, and won't affect any videos you uploaded before October 15. And weโll be working to improve recommendations for longer Shorts in the coming months.
But here is the thing - this isn't just about YouTube. It's a game-changer for your entire vertical video strategy across platforms. Think about it:
- Instagram and Facebook Reels: 90 seconds
- TikTok: up to 10 minutes
- And now YouTube Shorts: 3 full minutes
So, what does this mean for you? It's time lean more into vertical videos. Here are some quick tips to help you make the most of these extended run times:
- Plan your content: With more time, you can tell deeper stories. Break your video into clear sections โ hook, main content, and call-to-action.
- Use the extra time wisely: Don't just make longer videos for the sake of it. Every second should add value to your viewers.
- Create platform-specific edits: Film your full 3-minute video, then create shorter cuts for other platforms. This way, you're maximizing your content across all channels.
- Experiment with pacing: Longer videos give you room to play with pacing. Try mixing quick cuts with slower, more detailed segments.
- Engage throughout: With longer videos, it's crucial to keep viewers hooked. Use text overlays, transitions, and engaging visuals to maintain interest.
Remember, this update kicks in on October 15th, so you've got time to brainstorm and prepare. If you need content ideas, make sure you join my 2 Day Workshop.โ
๐ AI Alley
ChatGPT talks now! No, I mean really talks to you in a full-blown conversation, not the robotic way it used to, like all AI voice assistants.
They just launched 'Advanced Voice' for paid users, and it gives more natural, real-time convos.
I always tell you to just 'talk' to ChatGPT, but hereโs me showing you exactly how I use ChatGPT and this new feature.

๐ด Underrated Lesson
As a creator, there are multiple ways to monetize, and it has nothing to do with how many people follow you.
You donโt need a lot of followers for people to pay you. Itโs all about solving a problem. These problems can fall under motivation, education, or entertainmentโbut in all three, youโre solving a need they have.
So stop thinking thereโs a magical number you have to hit to monetize your brand. Youโre leaving money on the table.
So you already know you have to email me back about your biggest takeaway from this week's Content Corner take a screenshot and tag me in your stories (or Threads) so I know you liked this week's content. If not, I'll see you next Friday. Same time, same corner.
