Every time OpenAI drops something, my DMs fill up with the same question: "Should I upgrade?" "Is this the one?" "Am I falling behind?"
This week alone, OpenAI released GPT-5.3 Instant, GPT-5.4 Thinking, AND GPT-5.4 Pro. Plus ChatGPT for Excel, Codex Security, and a "Skills" beta for reusable workflows.
That's 6 announcements in 48 hours.
Here's what nobody's telling you: this is competitive panic, not product strategy.
We all saw the shift of everybody moving to Claude once OpenAI announced that they will be working with the government. Now, not everybody moved to Claude. A lot of people are actually using ChatGPT. It was number one on the App Store.
The main reason why everybody switched to Claude and then came back was because ChatGPT knows them best. It's still very important to understand these updates that ChatGPT is doing because we are creators.
And as creators, it's not our job to know every model, but it's to know which one helps us create.
So let me make this simple.
The Creator’s AI Filter:
🔹 GPT-5.3 Instant is your default - It’s now automatically what everyone gets in ChatGPT. 400K context window. 26.8% fewer hallucinations than GPT-4. This handles 95% of what creators need: drafting, brainstorming, repurposing.
🔹 GPT-5.4 is for builders only - The computer-use feature is impressive. It can navigate apps, click buttons, pull data. But unless you’re building automated workflows (not just using them), you don’t need this yet.
🔹 Ignore the 1M token context - Yes, GPT-5.4 Pro can process entire book manuscripts. But when was the last time you needed to analyze a novel-length document? This is enterprise flex, not creator utility.
🔹 The Skills beta is worth watching - Reusable instructions you can save and apply across conversations. This IS useful for creators who repeat the same prompts.
The real question isn’t “which model is best.” It’s “what am I actually trying to create?”
Start there. The right tool follows.

​Notion quietly dropped something that changes how I work: AI-generated images from your page content.
So that comic that you see right above here was made inside of Notion.
Here’s how it works: You have notes, outlines, or content in a Notion page. You literally tell it “make an infographic of this” or “turn this into a comic” and it generates visuals based on what’s already on the page.
Why this is huge for creators:
You’re not starting from scratch with a prompt. Your content.... what you wrote on that Notion page is the prompt. That blog outline? Now it’s a carousel. That framework you wrote? Now it’s an infographic. That story you drafted? Now it’s a comic strip.
No more copying and pasting into Nano Banana. No more trying to explain your idea to an AI that doesn’t know your content.
Notion already knows what you wrote. Now it can visualize it.
