Anthropic dropped Opus 4.7 yesterday.

I know. Another model. Another release note. Another wave of people yelling “this changes everything” about something that, by next month, will be mid.

I almost didn’t write about it.

Because here’s the thing. When you’re a solo creator, you don’t need benchmarks. You need hours back. You need the equivalent of the assistant, editor, and researcher you can’t afford to hire yet.

That’s actually what 4.7 quietly shipped.

Let me break this down:

🔹 The context window is now 1 million tokens at normal pricing. No premium. For us that means you can drop your entire content library, your whole book manuscript, two years of transcripts, or every caption you’ve ever written into one prompt and ask real questions. Not summaries. Actual analysis. “Where am I repeating myself?” “What theme keeps showing up that I haven’t named yet?”

🔹 It can run coherently for hours. I know how that sounds. But Anthropic’s own note says the model is built to push through hours-long workflows without losing the plot, recover from tool errors instead of stopping, and write notes to itself across sessions.

🔹 Vision jumped from 54 percent accuracy to 98. It can now actually read a screenshot of your analytics dashboard, a thumbnail grid, a competitor’s carousel, and tell you something useful. Not “this image has colors.” Useful.

Here’s the part most people are going to miss.

The model now interprets prompts more literally. It won’t silently expand what you asked for. That sounds like a downgrade. It isn’t. It’s a forcing function. If you’ve been lazy with your prompts and getting mid output, you’re about to get worse output unless you tighten up.

That’s actually a gift. You don’t need a better model. You need to get better at telling it what you want.

Stop asking your AI to “help with content” and start asking it to “analyze the last 90 days of posts for the three topics that drove the most saves and propose five angles we haven’t tried.”

Specific in. Specific out.

What’s one task eating your Sunday that you could hand off this week?

Try this prompt tonight. It uses 4.7’s long context and its new habit of self-verifying before returning output.

Paste in your last 20 pieces of content (captions, newsletter archives, transcripts). Then run:

You are auditing my content library. Do three things, in order. 1. Identify the three themes that show up most often. 2. Flag any theme I’ve repeated more than five times in the last 60 days. 3. Propose five new angles I have not covered that connect to my strongest theme. Verify your answer before returning it. If any step is unclear, stop and ask.

The “verify before returning” line matters. 4.7 was trained to self-check when you ask it to. Most people skip it.
